You can live in Maine for years and never be accepted as a true Mainer... but, even then, you can still dress like one. For that, you need to go the legendary outfitter L.L. Bean, founded by Leon Leonwood Bean in 1912 in Freeport, where it is still based. Stephen Smith is the company's CEO, and we're delighted to ask him what the deal is with the name Leon Leonwood.
